TULANI JOLLEY : APRES LADY GAGA, ELLE SORT SON EP "BE YOU"

Tulani Jolley.

Interview in English below.

Quand votre projet de EP "BE YOU" est-il né ?

Everyone knows you out of America for your work with Lady Gaga on the Monster Ball tour, what do people ask you about her?

People want to know what the whole experience was like, and I always tell people that it was one of the most amazing experiences of my life and I got to work with one of the most amazing artists in the world!

What remembering you have of the Monster Ball Tour...

I have so many memories!! My favorite memory on tour would be hearing the lil monsters singing their hearts out during the ballads. I actually almost cried during one show in Japan when the Lil Monsters started singing, and you could feel this powerful energy in the arena…Breathtakingly Beautiful!

Let us know something about Lady Gaga that people still don't know?

What’s amazing about her is that she is real, she is who is you see, there’s nothing I can say that you don’t already know.

When & how the BE YOU project was born?

The creation of the “BE YOU” Project started last year, when the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Washington and I recorded a song together. We then decided to do a full EP featuring the kids from Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Washington, and an Anti-Bullying tour as well.  The goal was to bring awareness to the Anti-Bullying Campaign with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Washington, and to help support their arts programs.

How did you work on it? With who?

“Being You” and “Mandela, Madiba” were produced by Award-Winning Poducer, Geno Regist, and we co-wrote the songs together. “I Have A Dream,” was written and produced by renowned producer and Regional Artistic Director of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Washington, Tony Small, and the kids from the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Washington are featured on 2 of the 3 songs on the “BE YOU” EP.

You seem to very committed to human rights & black rights, how come?

I definitely believe that all people should be treated with love and respect. We may all be different, but we all belong to the Human Race.

What is your message?

The “BE YOU” EP kicks of my Anti-Bullying Campaign with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Washington, and the message is all about loving yourself, spreading love, following your dreams, and being true to yourself because being you is a beautiful thing.

You talk about Mandela, what are your feelings about him?

Nelson Mandela taught us that love and sacrifice can change and heal the world.

Another song called "I have a dream" is a reference to Martin Luther King, what did he teach you?

Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr taught us that dreams are powerful!!!! He taught us that all things are possible if you believe! He also taught us that we can change the world and take a stand with peace and love.

What are your hope for the future of black people, and humanity?

It is beautiful that everyone is different, and even though we are different, we are all a part of humanity. I hope for the world to truly be what Dr. Martin Luther King Jr envisioned where we wouldn’t be judged by how we look, but by the “content of our character.”

What is the next step for your project ?

I am doing a promo and Anti-Bullying Tour with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Washington.  50% of the proceeds of the “BE YOU” EP will help fund Arts programs for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Washington and the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Washington and I are donating a portion of proceeds to Nelson Mandela’s Children’s Fund. Please support!!!
